Secrets & Features Of iTunes 7.1

iPod + iTunes Feral Felis Catus writes

iLounge has a wonderful write-up of the new features and changes found in iTunes 7.1. Very interesting!

A nice roundup. I would have liked the images to have been rollovers, going from 7.0 to 7.1 when one passed the mouse over them.

It's about time Apple returned this most important feature that the original Coverflow program had.

Of course I still can't place a Coverflow window over a iTunes visual window still. Plus the iTunes Coverflow isn't as "alive" as the orginal, neither is it on it's own processor for faster response, being integrated in iTunes completly.

    What happened to multi-threaded apps?

    Ok, I'm done. :P

As a matter of fact the entire iLounge site returns only the following error page:

    This site is currently unavailable

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is their site getting bombarded, or am I somehow being singled out & blocked by their website? Haven't tried it from another computer, but have using Safari & Firefox, from different ISPs. It's been doing this for a few days now at least.

This was recently pushed out via Software Update and after downloading I found that I had to reformat my Gen 1 512 Mb Shuffle. No big deal but I do have my shuffle divided into a data and music area so I can carry important files. After the format I found I didn't have control of the data/music division of the Shuffle. In the older iTunes you could divide your shuffle into a Music area and Data area and when you inserted the Shuffle it would show up in iTunes as an iPod and on your Desktop as a mounted drive. After the update this no longer worked, what does happen is when iTunes is running the Shuffle belongs totally to iTunes but if you quit iTunes it then shows up as a disk drive. Not nearly as convenient as before. I have no idea what happens with a larger iPod as I don't have one of those.
